Why would it be bad to give up on love?

Well i've had a rough time trying to get know girls and lots of people say im more mature and sophisticated of a intellectual than others of my age group (15yr old). I've seen and had a lot of loss in my life and i try to keep myself out of the spot light. I take charge of situations and stuff when needed and i try to be a team player but looks like that isn't cool enough and for some reason if your a high academic achiever you get frowned upon in and outside of school. In a nut shell........No one likes me cause i'm really different and maturity has come to haunt me when it comes to interacting with girls and because im more respectful and treat women in a more appropriate manner im weird and shunned by others and because my social standing is low im seen as expendable to others. So why is love and that stuff necessary? should i treat girls like crap and be a total *** hole?
