Well, one you could confront him about it, two he may have just been really busy with things in life although they may just sound like an excuse. All in all it's in the past and what you need to look forward to is the interview. Be yourself have confidence and know that if your employer sets you a goal you have to strive for it so you will be an awesome employee. My BF got a new job and everyone was always trying to get out of their hours or out of the extra hours they need people to work. He did whatever the bosses told him and now they are looking at him as a potential candidate for the job right above the one he has right now. The important thing about life is striving for what you want and as long as your friend supports you then he's trying to do something at least.
