I speak with different accents and don't know why.Can anyone give a possible explanation as to why?
I live in the southern portion of the U.S.A - Texas to be exact- and for whatever reason, I speak with different accents. Most people compare my "natural" accent to that of someone from Louisiana, which I also do not understand. During one conversation with one person, I can adopt two or three accents,if not more. Usually,I do not notice that I switch accents throughout a conversation until 1)someone points it out or 2) I am reading aloud in a quiet environment. I have questioned whether or not I am crazy, but I quickly dismiss that possibility. So,can anyone explain why I take on so many different accents? Thank you.
